Free email and DNS checker

Is your business email set up right?

Free check of your email and DNS records, explained in plain English. No account or email address required.

Checks public DNS records only. This does not access your mailbox or change any settings.

What this checker can tell you

In one check you learn whether people can email you and which provider handles your mail, whether your approved-sender list (SPF) is valid, whether your email carries a digital seal (DKIM), and whether a DMARC rule protects you from scammers using your name. You also get a full DNS lookup: website addresses (A and AAAA), aliases (CNAME), mail servers (MX), text records (TXT) and name servers (NS).

Missing records are not always errors. A domain may intentionally host no website or send no email. TXT records can contain public service verification values; avoid putting secrets in DNS.

Want detail on one record? Use the SPF checker, the DKIM checker or the DMARC checker. To trace one specific message, use the email header analyzer.

What needs a deeper investigation

A DNS record can exist while email still fails. This scan does not test mailbox access, inbox placement, sender reputation, whether each message is actually sealed, full SPF syntax or nested SPF lookup limits. The seal check finds keys only under the common names we try. It checks DMARC at the exact name entered, without organizational-domain fallback.

Results show what one public resolver returned at the time of the check. DNS caches and resolver failures can affect the answer. We send the queried domain or hostname to Cloudflare public DNS to perform the lookup.

For background, read our domain and DNS glossary. If messages land in spam, see business email troubleshooting.

Common questions

Why are my emails going to spam?

The most common causes are a missing or doubled SPF record, no DMARC rule, or mail sent through a service your domain never approved, such as a website form or a billing tool. This checker shows the first two in seconds. Reputation and message content also matter, and those need a deeper look. See business email going to spam.

What is an SPF record?

A list in your DNS of the services allowed to send email as your domain, such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Inboxes use it to tell your real email from fakes. A domain must have exactly one. Our SPF checker explains yours.

What is DMARC?

A rule in your DNS that tells inboxes what to do with email that fails your sender checks: watch it, send it to spam, or reject it. It is what stops scammers sending fake invoices that look like they came from you. Our DMARC checker explains yours.

Does this check DKIM?

Yes, as the digital seal check. DKIM keys are filed under names each email service chooses, so we try the names used by Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and common mail services. If yours uses a different name, enter it on the DKIM checker.

Is it safe to check my domain here?

Yes. It only reads public DNS records that anyone on the internet can already see. It never logs in to your email, never changes a setting, and does not ask for your email address.

Can you fix what the checker finds?

Yes. We fix DNS and business email problems remotely for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and other providers, and quote the work before we start.
